Yard waste and landscape debris, hauled out fast.

Storm cleanup, brush piles, deck demolition debris, old fence panels, sod and soil bags, dead trees and stumps. We haul yard and landscape debris by the truckload — routed to compost facilities and yard waste recycling where possible, rather than landfill. Same-day pickup in most metros.

Typical range $175 – $640
Pickup truck to full truck load. Larger storm or whole-yard projects quoted per-project.

What a yard waste removal actually involves

Yard waste is different from interior junk in two ways: the volume can be deceptive (a small brush pile is often much larger than it looks), and the routing matters more (compost and yard waste recycling is widely available, so material should go there, not landfill). Most yard waste loads we handle include:

  • Brush, branches, twigs, and small limbs
  • Larger tree debris (logs, trunks) — diameter limits apply, see FAQ
  • Stumps (ground-out chunks) and root balls
  • Sod, mulch, dirt, soil bags
  • Leaves, grass clippings, garden waste (bagged or loose)
  • Old fence panels, fence posts (wood, vinyl, chain-link sections)
  • Deck demolition debris — boards, joists, railings, deck blocks
  • Old sheds (small, requires disassembly — see FAQ)
  • Play sets, swing sets, basketball hoops, trampolines
  • Patio furniture (broken or unwanted)
  • Old hot tub frames (drained — see also dedicated hot tub removal)
  • Pots, broken planters, garden statuary, ornamental rocks
Not included as standard scope Live trees, large standing dead trees (we don't do tree felling — call an arborist first, then we haul the debris). Hazardous yard materials (pesticide containers with chemicals, leaking propane tanks, old gasoline cans). Heavy rock or concrete in bulk volumes (we can take limited amounts; for large concrete demolition see post-construction cleanup).

How yard waste removal typically works

1. Photo quote

Send photos of the debris pile or the area to be cleared. For yard waste, photos are usually enough — the volume is visually obvious and weight is less of a variable than with C&D.

2. Schedule

Most yard waste pickups schedule for same-day or next-day. Storm cleanup with multiple truck loads schedules out 1–3 days depending on availability and the scale of the storm event in your area.

3. Loading day

Loaders arrive in your 4-hour window, load the debris to the truck, leave the yard cleared. We don't leave piles behind — everything goes in one visit unless you've booked multi-day storm scope.

4. Compost or yard waste recycling routing

Organic yard waste (brush, branches, leaves, grass, sod) routes to commercial composting facilities or municipal yard waste recycling where available. Treated wood (fence panels, deck debris) routes to wood recycling or biomass. Inert materials (rocks, dirt) route to clean fill. Only the truly mixed/non-recoverable stream routes to landfill.

How yard waste removal pricing actually works

Pricing is volume-based — by how much truck space the debris occupies. Yard waste tends to be lighter than C&D but bulkier, so volume is usually the binding constraint rather than weight.

Small jobs (a few brush piles, a single broken fence panel, a small deck tear-out worth of debris) land in the $175–$290 range. Mid-size jobs (a yard full of brush after storm cleanup, a full fence replacement's worth of old panels) land in $290–$490. Larger projects (multiple truck loads after a major storm, a full backyard clearance) run $490–$890+ depending on volume.

If the work is post-storm and you're dealing with insurance, mention it at quote — we can structure documentation in a way that supports claims (itemized scope, photo documentation of removal, weight tickets where applicable).

Frequently asked questions

How big a tree limb can you take?

Loose branches and limbs up to about 8 inches in diameter route through our standard truck loading. Larger logs (tree trunks, root balls) we can take but we may bring a different truck and the price reflects the handling. Whole standing trees require an arborist or tree service to fell them — we haul the debris afterward.

Can you take old hot tubs?

Yes — but the hot tub must be drained, ideally with the cabinet removed. For a fully-intact in-ground or built-in hot tub, we coordinate the removal separately. See our RV/boat and large item removal page for hot tub-specific scope.

What about old sheds?

Small sheds (8x10 or smaller) we can disassemble and haul as part of a yard waste job. Larger outbuildings, garages-as-sheds, or anything with a foundation typically requires demo coordination — quoted separately.

Do you take garden chemicals and pesticide containers?

Empty containers (rinsed) yes. Containers with chemical residue, leaking, or full — no. Route those through your county's household hazardous waste collection program. We'll flag them at the walkthrough and tell you where to take them locally.

How fast can you come after a storm?

Storm cleanup is often urgent and we prioritize it. For major regional storm events (hurricane, ice storm, tornado), our network mobilizes for the affected metros within 24–72 hours. For routine post-storm cleanup (a few downed branches, fence damage), same-day or next-day pickup is typical.

Can you take leftover construction materials too?

Yes — if the yard waste pickup overlaps with a renovation cleanup (a few drywall sheets, leftover lumber, paint cans), we can take them in the same load. For larger renovation scopes, see our post-construction cleanup page.

Do I need to be home during pickup?

For exterior yard pickups, you don't — as long as the debris is accessible (driveway, curb, yard with gate access). We coordinate access in advance and send photos when complete. For interior debris (basement, garage), someone usually needs to be present.

What about dead trees that are still standing?

We don't fell standing trees. Call a tree service or arborist to fell the tree, and we'll come haul the debris afterward. We can coordinate scheduling so the arborist and our pickup happen the same day.
